Everything you wanted to know about food and what it does to your body will be explored March 16–18 at Food Sense, the eighth annual MU Life Sciences and Society Symposium.
The symposium, which is free and open to everyone, investigates how biological triggers, cultural norms, economic activity and social surroundings shape our taste in food. It will examine how individuals, communities and societies can make healthy choices about food.
Among the speakers are university professors and owners of local health food businesses. The keynote speaker is Brian Wansink, director of the Cornell Food and Brand Lab at Cornell University, and author of Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think.
Talks and sessions will be held in the Anheuser-Busch Natural Resources Building and the Bond Life Sciences Center.
