The co-chairs of the School of Law’s Dean Search Committee, Joan Gabel and Thom Lambert, have announced finalists for the law school’s dean position. The finalists are:
- Gary Myers, associate dean for research, professor of law and the Ray & Louise Stewart Lecturer in Law at MU School of Law;
- Andrew Klein, chief of staff to the Office of the Chancellor at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis;
- Robert J. Pushaw Jr., a professor at Pepperdine University School of Law;
- Marcella David, associate dean for international and comparative law, and professor of law and international studies at the University of Iowa;
- Beverly Moran, professor of law and sociology at Vanderbilt University.
Each candidate will participate in public forums called “Meet the Dean,” allowing MU’s faculty, staff, students and the general public to ask each candidate questions.
Here is the schedule so far:
- Myers on Friday at 4:30 p.m. in 6 Hulston Hall;
- Klein on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in 6 Hulston Hall.
Dates for the remaining candidates have not yet been finalized.
“The search committee has been working diligently to find the best person to lead our law school into the next phase,” Gabel said in a statement. “We’re very pleased with the quality of these candidates and expect to successfully conclude the search in the near future.”
