Celebration of Chinese culture

Sixty-five middle school students from Beijing will perform at “Chinese Culture and Art Night,” an evening of Chinese folk music, ethnic dance, Peking opera and martial arts at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, in Jesse Hall Auditorium.

Most of the performances in the show have received awards from different international competitions around the world.

Presenting the event are the Office of the Vice Provost for International Programs, the MU Confucius Institute and the China Society for People’s Friendship Studies.

“The performance shows how Chinese people celebrate their very rich and colorful culture,” said Wen Ouyang, co-director of the MU Confucius Institute.

Admission is free. For more information call 882-9061.
