Thomas Jefferson and his era are the focus of the Chancellor’s Arts Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Missouri Theatre, 203 S. 9th St.
Happening on Jefferson’s birthday, “The Jefferson Era” will feature period music, spirituals sung by the Legion of Black Collegians choir, a scene from the Corps of Discovery Opera, Jeffersonian exhibits prepared by MU art students, and dramatic works and readings.
Tickets are $10 for the general public and may be purchased online or by calling the Missouri Theatre Box Office at 882-3781. Students receive a free ticket with student ID.
Sponsors include the MU College of Arts and Science, the School of Music, the departments of art and theatre, Mizzou Botanic Garden and the Sinquefeld Charitable Foundation.
