Human Resources training conference Oct. 22–23

Human Resource Services will present its annual training conference Oct. 22–23 in Memorial Union. With more than 30 concurrent sessions over two days, employees can participate in a variety of sessions from professional development to wellness to retirement. The speakers are primarily staff, faculty and community members who are experts in their fields.

Reduced budgets make it difficult for departments to send employees off campus for training opportunities, but for several years the Human Resource Services division has come up with cost-effective solutions that allow staff to get free top-notch training and indulge in personal and professional development in their own back yard.

While the conference focuses on staff employees, faculty are invited to a demonstration on myLearn, a learning tool designed to supplement traditional training methods and provide faculty and staff with more opportunities for developing skills while minimizing the demands on the campus’s limited training resources.

Information about the conference, course descriptions and registration forms are available online at hrs.missouri.edu under the Training tab.

Staff members without computer access can contact Human Resource Services at 882-4840 to register.

There is no registration deadline, but employees who enroll in a session and later find out they cannot attend should remove themselves from the course to open the seat for other interested parties.

For more information, contact Dawn Klinger, manager of Human Resource Support Services, at 882-2602, or e-mail klingerda@missouri.edu.
