Town Hall meeting set for Nov. 3

Chancellor Brady J. Deaton and UM System President Gary Forsee will host an open  Town Hall meeting at 10 a.m. Nov. 3 in Jesse Hall Auditorium.

The meeting will include an update on the state of the university, as well as discussions of the university’s fiscal challenges and potential changes in the retirement plan for future employees.

Deaton and Forsee will also take questions from the audience. The meeting will not be available via web cast, so supervisors are encouraged to allow staff to attend.

Meanwhile, UM has posted a short video on its website that gives an overview of potential changes to the retirement plan. The four-minute video provides background for employees before the Board of Curators Compensation and Human Resources Committee meets to discuss the pension project Nov. 1.

The video can be viewed at umsystem.edu/ums/departments/hr/benefits/retirementplanproject/.

Presentations made by UM pension consultants at the committee meeting will also be available on the System website Nov. 1.
