At the spring general faculty meeting, Chancellor Deaton also updated faculty on the progress of Mizzou Advantage, a new initiative that aims to capitalize on the campus indisciplinary enterprises and raise MU’s stature and visibility.
“Many of you have been involved in this process,” he told faculty. “We hope that Mizzou Advantage not only helps us as we deal with the tough budget situation we’ve got, but will help us in a very significant way with the next development campaign that we’re working toward, and toward new research and educational funding initiatives from state, federal and international programs,” Deaton said.
“Mizzou Advantage has ignited interest among major donors.”
He invited everyone to attend a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. May 11 in the Reynolds Alumni Center to kick off the initiative. There will be a brief program at 4:45 p.m. with remarks from Deaton, Provost Brian Foster and the five faculty facilitators who will coordinate the five strategic areas.
