The youngsters who attend MU’s Child Development Laboratory in Stanley Hall have had some excellent role models visit their classrooms recently. April is the Month of the Young Child, and a number of campus and local leaders read to the children during the month to highlight the celebration.
In addition to Provost Foster and his wife, they included state Rep. Chris Kelly, D-Columbia; Stephen Jorgensen, dean of Human Environmental Sciences; Rob Duncan, vice provost for research; Anne Deaton, MU’s first lady; and Sherry Forsee, wife of UM President Gary Forsee.
MU’s Child Development Laboratory has a nearly 80-year history on campus and in the community. It is an educational setting for community children and a teaching and research laboratory for university students, faculty and staff. The laboratory operates a full-day, full-year teacher-training lab school affiliated with the Department of Human Development and Family Studies within the College of Human Environmental Sciences.
