Wearing a bright red dress and boa, MU Department of Theatre Professor David Crespy, known as Crespina Chandelabra when in drag, heads to class Monday for his lecture on gay and lesbian theater in Ellis Auditorium. Crespy talked about Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Angels in America, which he is directing as part of the conference Angels in Performance: Documenting LGBTQ Lives in Theatre & Performance April 24–28. Crespy wore drag to class as a nod to the eight Angels characters who cross-dress. Angels is showing at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday and May 2–5 at the Rhynsburger Theatre.
